A sex robot manufacturer has dismissed his rival's creations as "toys" in a war of words between two companies vying to dominate the growing sex tech market.
Dr Sergi Santos, who founded Synthea Amatus, and Matt McMullen, CEO of Realbotix, are competing to create and sell the best ultra-realistic robotic sex dolls money can buy.
Their firms have both developed female androids that can talk, learn and use artificial intelligence to fulfill their owners' deepest desires.
But they don't come cheap.
Dr Santos' current flagship model is Samantha, a sex robot with eight different modes that was developed alongside businessman Arran Lee Squires, from Holyhead in North Wales.
The head alone costs £3,000.

Yet according to Mr Squires, Samantha is so popular he is 'struggling to meet the demand' and needs to start mass producing the heads.
The sex robot - which reacts to the touch and voice of users - went to market this summer and gained huge media attention, helping to drive sales.
But Realbotix, based in San Marcos, California, launches its products at the end of the year, and Mr McMullan says they are more than a match for Samantha.
Speaking to the Daily Star Online, Harmony Erotic Cyborgs founder Matt McMullan dismissed Samantha as being “closer to toys” and “kind of cheesy”.

“It’s closer to something that you would pull a string from the back of,” he said.
“It’s not moving, there are no robots involved, how can you call it a robot? It’s very, very simplistic programming.
“I feel things like that that tout the terminology of sex robot pulls the perception downwards.
“I think a talking doll is more of an accurate description, from what I’ve seen.”
The competition between the companies is set to be fierce as demand grows for realistic sex robots - the sex tech industry is thought to be worth £30 billion.
Matt's latest creation, the Harmony 3.0 robotic head, can be synced with mobile phones and costs around £15,000.

The robotic head can be attached to a customizable silicone sex doll body, complete with washable orifices.
Dr Santos has hit back against Matt's claims, and accused him of lacking academic and computer engineering credentials.
He told Mirror Online: "They are making diluted versions of Alexa and Google Home I have based everything on my own concepts and ideas, which are original.
"As an artist and businessman I respect, but as a scientist I must admit I don't feel challenged by any of those comments."
